This weekend, Priyanka Chopra was invited by the Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) for their closing ceremony on June 21 where she became the first Indian actor to be presented with the festival’s top award, the Jin Jue award but she wasn’t able to receive it in person.
“Priyanka was very animated about disappearing to China to receive the SIFF award. Unhappily, she had a relapse of her stomach sickness so she has been advised neighboring to traveling.”
Priyanka Chopra said, “I feel much advantaged to take delivery of this admiration from the Shanghai International Film Festival. As an actor, it is very heartening to be documented for your work. For me, an award such as this on such a big intercontinental platform gives me an opportunity to present India and our cinema to the world.”
Priyanka Chopra was the busiest actress in 2008. She had six releases: Dostana, Fashion, Drona, God Tussi Great Ho, Chanku and Love Story 2050 out of which Dostana and Fashion were super hits. All her hard work and dedication has remunerated off and Piggy Chops is on a roll as this is her tenth award in 2009.
